Not every game needs to be a masterpiece to matter. Some stick with you because of when you played them, who you played them with, or how they made you feel when everything else in life felt loud and complicated.
Blow On The Cartridge is a tribute to those games… the ones time forgot, but you never did. The ones you found in a bargain bin, borrowed from a cousin, or rented five times in a row because you never got past level three.
I’ve spent 12 years inside game studios. I’ve seen the passion, the crunch, the heartbreak, and the pure creative energy that goes into making even the most obscure titles. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of games most modern players have never touched and that’s a loss. Not because they’re all perfect, but because they all meant something to someone.
This newsletter is my way of preserving that.
From low-res polygons on the N64 and PS1 to sprite-based brawlers and side-scrollers, I want to shine a light on the forgotten corners of gaming, the bold experiments, the underrated gems, the certified classics, and yes, even the beautiful messes with one brilliant idea.
Some games I feature will be timeless legends. Some will be… questionable.
But every single one will have something worth remembering — a song, a moment, a mechanic, a vibe. So if you’re into forgotten favorites, hidden gems, and the stories of game history…welcome.
Let’s press start.
